Fire performance
Using URSA’s glass mineral wool offers very high standards of security in case of fire.
URSA’s glass mineral wool products have been proved to contain fire and prevent its spread, as well as produce a low quantity of smoke. These high-performance characteristics have earned URSA’s glass mineral wool products the A1 and A2 labels (out of seven categories) in the European Reaction to Fire classification system. These are the best results among most common insulation materials.
The fire resistance rating of a structure is identified by the REI marking. It determines how long, in minutes, a constructive element can preserve its mechanical resistance, the integrity of flames and gases and the thermal insulation. In certain constructions with URSA’s glass mineral wool products in them have been proven to achieve REI 120, meaning it can resist fire during 120 minutes.
Indoor air quality

The following internationally recognized certification schemes have been accredited to URSA’s insulation materials due to the ultra-low amount of volatile organic compounds they emit:

- Highest rating (A+) in the French VOC labeling scheme
- M1 level in the Finnish emissions certification scheme
- Blue Angel certification in Germany
